Day of Hope is what happens when a community rallies around its neighbors, offering hope, support, and comfort when it’s needed most.

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we proudly raised more than $35,000 for Mission Hope Cancer Center at Marian Regional Medical Center and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital. Every dollar helps provide cancer patients and their families with important programs, services, and care right here on the Central Coast.

Making a difference in our neighbors’ lives — one newspaper at a time! 📰

Today is a reminder of why we’re so proud to call the Central Coast home. Dozens of CoastHills employees rallied at the corners of six of our branches to come together and support local cancer patients during Day of Hope — because no one will fight cancer alone on our watch.

We’re incredibly grateful to every employee who showed up, rolled up their sleeves (and maybe even put on a costume! 😉), and helped make this year’s Day of Hope so special.

And to everyone in our community who stopped by, donated, and supported this important cause — thank you for showing up for our neighbors, too. 🧡

This year, Day of Hope is personal. 🎗

CoastHills has proudly supported Day of Hope for years, but this year holds a special place in our hearts because our own Cathy Cachu is the 2026 Day of Hope Ambassador for Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.

Cathy has served on the Arroyo Grande Community Hospital Foundation board of directors for years. Then, in 2024, she became a patient of the hospital herself, receiving treatment at the cancer center she had worked so hard to support. Now cancer-free, Cathy is giving back once again — this time by sharing her story and helping bring hope to other patients and families. We are incredibly proud of Cathy and are so excited to rally beside her in support of Mission Hope.

🎓 Welcome back, students!

A new school year is here, and we’re cheering on four local students taking a big step toward their Cal Poly degrees through the Bachelor's Pathway Programs at Allan Hancock College and Cuesta College.

CoastHills is proud to provide $20,000 in scholarships to help make it possible — so these students can work toward a Cal Poly degree without having to leave home.

Big dreams, local roots, and a whole lot to be proud of. We can’t wait to see where these students go next!

From first entering the water at four months old to leading his high school team as captain, swimming has played a defining role in Henry Esola’s life. 🏊‍♂️
 
Henry has built an impressive athletic career through swim and dive, water polo, and while maintaining a 4.4 GPA. When an injury prevented him from competing in his specialty events, Henry continued to support his teammates, compete wherever he was needed, and lead with a positive attitude. After months of rehabilitation and hard work, he returned to the pool, achieved personal best times, and finished his senior season as team captain.
 
Henry’s willingness to challenge himself, support others, and persevere through setbacks reflects the dedication and character of an exceptional student-athlete CoastHills is happy to support.
 
Congratulations, Henry, on being named the KSBY Academic Athlete of the Month! We’re proud to celebrate everything you have accomplished in the classroom and the pool. 🎉
