Today marks the 50th Anniversary of the Viking 2 landing on Mars. NASA's historic double-feature on Mars was completed fifty years ago today when Viking 2 touched down at Utopia Planitia to join Viking 1. Working alongside its twin lander, Viking 2 analyzed Martian soil samples and captured thousands of high-resolution images, fundamentally shifting humanity's understanding of our planetary neighbor.

Vice President Theodore Roosevelt delivered his legendary foreign policy address, advising the nation to "Speak softly and carry a big stick." Just days later, McKinley's assassination would elevate Roosevelt to the presidency, turning this historic speech into the blueprint for 20th-century American diplomacy.

Who recalls the catchphrase, "Kiss my grits!" Yep! It's the 50th Anniversary of the Comedy Series Alice. On this day in 1976, CBS introduced viewers to Mel's Diner with the premiere of Alice. Inspired by the film Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore, the hit sitcom captivated millions for nearly a decade and popularized waitress Flo's sharp-tongued catchphrase.

Thirty years ago, before Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, or Internet Explorer. Netscape Navigator 3.0 was released. It quickly captured most of the early browser market. Introducing foundational web features like integrated email and JavaScript support, it helped ignite the 1990s dot-com boom and shaped how the public experienced the early digital frontier.
