Today, Dutchess County Executive Sue Serino and Legislature Chairman Will Truitt announced the County will commit up to $1.5 million in funds to support local food pantries. The announcement follows the federal government shutdown threatening to freeze Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for more than 11,000 households in Dutchess alone. Another great program through Dutchess County Office for the Aging!

Did you know that we at OFA partner with GoGo Transportation to offer rides anywhere in Dutchess County that Uber or Lyft drivers are available?

This program is for older adults in the County who need help getting to medical appointments or visiting loved ones in hospitals, hospices, or nursing homes, if they don’t qualify for Medicaid transportation or have no other way to get there. As part of the program, the older adult taking the ride must be able to get to and from the vehicle.
