September is a time to take action and make a difference.

As we celebrate KCU Volunteer Month and recognize Hunger Action Month, Kitsap Credit Union and the KCUCares Foundation are proud to come together in support of our neighbors facing food insecurity.

Throughout the month, KCU team members will be rolling up their sleeves to volunteer at local food banks, including Bremerton Foodline, helping provide critical resources to individuals and families across our community. By volunteering together, we can make a meaningful impact while strengthening the connections that make our communities thrive.

Hunger Action Month is a reminder that ending hunger takes all of us. We're honored to support organizations working every day to ensure our neighbors have access to the food they need.

Congratulations to our 2026 I Love My Credit Union Giveaway winner, Danya!

When asked what she loves about credit unions, Danya shared: "I love they focus on local communities and friendly, personal customer support." We couldn't agree more!

As this year's winner, Danya received a $250 prize and chose Kitsap Humane Society as the recipient of a matching donation, helping support the animals and people they serve throughout our community.

Thanks to the generosity and participation of Team KCU, we recently raised $1,455 for the ACU PAC (America's Credit Unions Political Action Committee) through a fun fundraising event featuring raffles, games, and a little friendly competition in a co****le tournament!

These contributions help support advocacy efforts that strengthen credit unions and protect our ability to serve members and communities. We're proud to support the credit union difference and the people-helping-people philosophy that guides everything we do.

People Behind the Purpose: Meet Terrence O'Leary — our Contact Center Team Lead, known for his leadership, empathy, and commitment to helping both members and coworkers find solutions. Since joining Kitsap Credit Union in 2021, Terrence has grown from Contact Center Associate to Team Lead, building knowledge across the organization while staying focused on exceptional member service.

"I most enjoy when I can help a member or staff identify an issue and come to a resolution," Terrence shared. Throughout his journey at KCU, he's appreciated the support of colleagues across departments and now enjoys passing that knowledge on to newer team members.
