Here at MoFoScho we serve many clients whose adult children are helping them navigate their insurance. Without a Power of Attorney we can’t discuss their policies with anyone else besides the policy holder. Please call Attorney Jennifer Hensley and have her put this in place so we can talk about your folks’ insurance needs. We neighbors helping neighbors.

When was the last time you reviewed your powers of attorney?

Many people create these important documents and never revisit them. However, relationships, life circumstances, and trust can change over time. The person you appointed years ago may no longer be the best choice to handle financial or legal decisions on your behalf.

Regularly reviewing your powers of attorney helps ensure your chosen representatives still align with your wishes and are prepared to act in your best interest when needed.

Do review your powers of attorney.
Don’t leave outdated representatives in place.

Contact Hensley Law Offices today to review your legal documents and make sure your plan still reflects your current needs.

Hey trade contractor friends, do you know these 5 numbers? If not, you need to know Jade Badger, owner of Badger’s Financial Services. Don’t let another 6 months go by. Call today!

We're halfway through the year — the perfect time for a financial gut check that has nothing to do with how busy you've been.

Here's the hard truth: busy and profitable are not the same thing. I've seen businesses run flat-out all summer and still finish the year with nothing in the bank.

Five numbers worth reviewing before July:

1. Gross margin by job or service type — which work actually pays?
2. Overhead as a % of revenue — has it quietly crept up?
3. Are you actually paying yourself — consistently?
4. Cash on hand vs. a few weeks of expenses.
5. AR aging — how much of your money is sitting in someone else's account?

If a few of these are fuzzy, you're in good company — most owners are too deep in the day-to-day to track them. But the second half of the year is a lot easier to steer when you know your numbers.

I run mid-year financial check-ins for Florida small businesses and trades — clear, jargon-free, and focused on what to actually do next.

Today marks the first day of Hurricane Season. Although we don't have a crystal ball to see the future we can prepare. Besides a check list, let our office help you with a review of your insurance policies. Do you have enough insurance to rebuild, replace, repair? Don't wait until afterwards, that's too late. IT'S HAPPENING$$$ As previously announced, Progressive is issuing refunds to policy holders. This is in part due to strong financial performance in 2025 and back in 2023 the Florida Legislators passed the insurance reform bill which aimed to stabilize the markets by curbing litigation costs, reducing statute of limitations for negligence cases and eliminating one-way attorney fees.

Who is eligible? Those who had an active policy as of December 31, 2025 are eligible.

What do you need to do to receive your refund? Nothing!
From what we understand, Progressive will credit the refund to your existing policy or apply the refund to your renewal. If you don't have a balance or your renewal is a long time away you may receive a refund check by mail, EFT or back to your credit card. Give Progressive a call if you want to know more.

How much will you get?
The amount of the refund depends on a few things, not everyone gets the same amount but isn't this wonderful!

Not to rain on the parade but don't spend all that money, it's almost tax season! 😭
