The blistering stock market rally will be tested next week when the Bureau of Labor Statistics releases the jobs report on Friday. Despite dour consumer sentiment, the labor market has held up well, with the unemployment rate below historical average, and jobs growth perking up recently after a weak 2025. Broadcom, one of only six U.S. companies valued at $2 trillion or more, brings down the curtain on a stellar earnings season.

That’s when we get the PCE inflation report, the Fed’s preferred inflation gauge. Expectations are for core PCE to come in around 0.3% month-over-month and roughly 3.2% year-over-year, still well above the Fed’s 2% target.

If inflation comes in hot again, markets may finally have to accept that higher rates are not going away anytime soon.

We also get durable goods and new home sales Thursday, another reality check on whether the economy is actually slowing.

On earnings, the calendar is lighter, but the volatility expectations are not.

Salesforce reports Wednesday, and the options market is pricing in about a 9–10% move after earnings.

Then Thursday it’s Dell, with options implying roughly an 11–12% swing.

it’s a week that could give markets important clues on inflation, consumer strength, corporate earnings, and geopolitical risk. With stocks already pricing in a lot of good news

The earnings calendar is relatively light, with just nine S&P 500 companies scheduled to report. A few notable names include Constellation Energy on Monday, Cisco Systems on Wednesday, and Applied Materials on Thursday. These reports should give investors a read on energy demand, enterprise technology spending, and the semiconductor investment cycle.

On the economic side, inflation will be the main focus. The Consumer Price Index comes out Tuesday, followed by the Producer Price Index on Wednesday. Together, these reports will help investors assess whether inflation is continuing to cool or if price pressures are proving more persistent.

Then on Thursday, we’ll get retail sales, which will offer an important look at the health of the consumer. With markets recently reaching new highs, investors will be watching to see whether consumer spending can continue to support the economy.

Also Thursday, President Trump is scheduled to meet with President Xi Jinping in China, where trade policy and the Iran conflict are expected to be key topics.

Not a bad place to talk markets… but next week, things might get a little less calm.

We’ve got a loaded earnings calendar. Monday starts with Palantir Technologies, then Tuesday brings Advanced Micro Devices, Shopify, and PayPal.

Wednesday is the big one, Walt Disney, Uber Technologies, DoorDash… basically a pulse check on the consumer. And just to keep things interesting, Friday we get the jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Every appointment reminder. Every two-factor login. Every “your driver is arriving.” Ticker: TWLO. They run the rails for SMS, voice, and email at scale.
Now here’s the AI part. When an AI agent calls you about your dentist appointment, or texts you about your order, that voice and that text still have to ride somebody’s pipes. Twilio is becoming default plumbing for that.
Q1 just printed: revenue up 20%, fastest growth in three years and raised full-year guidance. This is not a buy recommendation

A year ago, Google was left for dead.
ChatGPT was going to eat search. The antitrust judge was going to break up the company. The AI race had passed Mountain View by. By May of last year, Alphabet had traded down to the $140s. 2 years later it hits all time highs.

In about six hours, the stock market’s near-term direction gets decided in roughly 80 seconds. And options markets imply they are priced to move 6-7%.

That’s how fast Alphabet, Amazon, Meta, and Microsoft hit the tape last quarter, four of the largest companies in the S&P 500, all reporting within the same 80-second window. They’re all reporting again tonight, after the close.
