Did you also know that jewelry is only covered up to $1,500 on a standard homeowners insurance policy? If you have valuable jewelry or watches, please consider adding an endorsement to your homeowners policy to add specific coverage for these items. If the endorsement is not available from your insurer, you can purchase a separate policy.

114 years ago today, the Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre in Paris. The theft was carried out by a handyman named Vincenzo Peruggia, an Italian handyman who had worked at The Louvre.
The mystery of the missing Mona Lisa painting was solved over two years later, when Peruggia tried to sell the painting in Florence, Italy. Ironically, the theft of the Mona Lisa helped transform the painting into perhaps the most famous painting in the world.

Did you know that if you have your own "Mona Lisa" hanging in your living room, your homeowners insurance will only cover its disappearance or loss if caused by certain "named perils" and likely have a limit on how much they will pay?

To ensure your artwork is adequately insured, you may be able to "schedule" it on your homeowners insurance policy - i.e. endorse the policy to specifically insure it for a certain value.
You can also take out a stand-alone policy for things like artwork, antiques, jewelry etc.

Are you ready for the Perseid meteor shower tonight? 💫

According to experts, the meteor shower will be visible between midnight and dawn. To see the most meteors, find a dark location away from city lights, allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness for 15-20 minutes, and then look toward the Northeast.

As for your insurance experts, we want you to rest assured that on the very far-off chance that a meteor strikes your house, your homeowners insurance covers damage from "falling objects", so just get out there and enjoy the show! 🌠
