The L gets all the attention. The Metra changes the math.

Andersonville is one of Chicago's most consistently sought-after neighborhoods for homebuyers — and if you're trying to understand why, this is where to start.

The North Side real estate market has changed. Inventory is tight, prices have moved up, and buyers are asking more targeted questions about lifestyle fit, not just square footage. Andersonville answers a specific version of that question: what does it actually feel like to live somewhere you're proud to come home to?

This is a neighborhood where the LGBTQ+ community isn't an amenity, it's the foundation. Where farmers market Wednesdays, walkable Clark Street dining, and Red Line access have made long-term residents out of people who "just wanted to try it for a year."

Some realtors prep for showings with spreadsheets. I spend time in the neighborhood first.

Specifically this Starbucks. Specifically in Jefferson Park. Specifically before I walk buyers through the listing I have here right now.

Is it market research? Absolutely. Is it also just a good excuse to grab a coffee before a showing? Also yes.

But here's what no spreadsheet shows you: what the morning energy feels like. Whether people wave at each other. Whether the streets feel lived in or just listed on.

Jefferson Park is a Northwest Side Chicago neighborhood with Blue Line access, tree-lined streets, and a real community feel. And the price points right now are something first-time buyers and relocators in the Chicago real estate market should be paying close attention to.
