Got an email from your bank saying your account has been suspended and click here to unfreeze it? Stop! It's another phishing scam!

Every day, thousands of people fall victim to phishing scams. Phishing is a type of scam where criminals make fraudulent emails, phone calls and texts that appear to come from a legitimate bank. Their goal is to trick you into providing confidential information (like account numbers, passwords, PINs, or birthdays) so they can steal your hard-earned dollars.

We don’t know who a favorite teller is around here… but there will be signs🍦🤍

At Union State Bank, our roots don’t always start here. Some people find their way here from somewhere completely unexpected and then wonder how they ever lived anywhere else. That’s Karmen’s story.

She grew up in North Carolina, then moved to North Dakota with her family in 2012. Karmen met her husband Levi, a Beulah native, and in 2022 they bought his grandfather’s farmhouse in Stanton. Planting themselves right in the heart of this community.

Karmen says the small-community feel and welcoming atmosphere made staying an easy choice. And she gives that same warmth right back every single day as our Frontline Manager. Most customers may not realize everything Karmen does behind the scenes: she manages the teller line, supports her team, and makes sure every customer who walks through the door is taken care of the right way.

“How hard we all work to make sure our customers are taken care of.” That’s what Karmen wishes more people knew about Union State Bank, and honestly, she’s a big reason why that’s true. We’re so glad North Carolina’s loss was our gain!
