We had two special reasons to celebrate at this year’s Beaufort Regional Chamber Civitas Awards! 🎉

Congratulations to Charley Webb on receiving the Lifetime Leadership Award in recognition of his decades of leadership and service to the Beaufort community. Charley has helped shape our organization and has made a lasting impact on the community we are proud to serve.

We were also excited to celebrate Zarah Goodyear, who was named a finalist for the Buzzworthy Award, recognizing influential leadership and the positive impact she makes in our region.

We are proud to have both Charley and Zarah representing our organization and grateful for the many ways they contribute to our community. Congratulations to you both on these well-deserved honors! 💙

We are so proud to celebrate our former partner, Charley Webb, who will receive the Lifetime Leadership Award at next week’s Beaufort Regional Chamber Civitas Awards!

Charley faithfully led our organization for decades and helped shape Kinghorn Insurance Agency of Beaufort into what it is today. But his impact extends far beyond our office. From serving on community boards and attending Rotary, to sitting in a church pew, cheering on local sports, supporting his family (especially those grandkids!), and helping preserve the special place we call home, Charley has always found a way to make a difference.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, he managed to sell a little insurance and tell a dang good story!

Our community is better because of Charley, and we’re grateful to celebrate this well-deserved honor with him! 💙

Introducing our 2026 Lifetime of Leadership Award Winner: Charley Webb

The Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that Charley Webb, recently retired partner of Kinghorn Insurance of Beaufort, will receive the Lifetime of Leadership Award at this year’s Civitas Awards on October 22.

Born and raised in Beaufort, Charley went to Clemson and came right back home. He started out at his father-in-law’s service station, then joined Kinghorn selling insurance in the 1970s.

When Kinghorn’s partners considered selling in the mid-2000s, Charley kept the Beaufort office, largely out of concern for its employees. He went on to help grow the firm into what it is today, and his colleagues say they “stand on his shoulders.”

He’s also the first call when a church or nonprofit needs a place to gather or a hand with an event. As one colleague put it, he’s “a stand-up guy that you’re better for knowing.” Beaufort is better for having him.

HELP needs help! Beaufort has so many organizations that meet different needs of our community. Consider HELP Of Beaufort next time you’re cleaning out your house or at the grocery store! Did you know they accept household items, too?

Buy what you would want to eat or donate something you’d like to find. Sometimes the things that we don’t need becomes exactly what someone else desperately does.

During Open Enrollment, hundreds of clients need assistance within a short period of time. To make sure we can serve everyone as efficiently as possible, our two health insurance agents divide appointments between new enrollments and existing-client renewals. Zarah Goodyear primarily handles new enrollments, and her schedule is primarily reserved for those new enrollments so our team can accommodate everyone who needs assistance. Caprecia Evans primarily handles existing-client renewals. Appointments are necessary, but we've tried to make it as seamless as possible. Today we’re celebrating Amy Purdy and 29 years with Kinghorn Insurance Agency of Beaufort, LLC! 🎉

Since joining Kinghorn in 1997, Amy has truly done it all. She has worked in every role in our Personal Lines department, giving her a wealth of insurance knowledge and an understanding of our clients that only comes with nearly three decades of experience.
