Good news for those of you leasing a car and trying to qualify for a home loan! Conventional loan options now let the lender ignore the lease payment if the lease is paid off or paid down. Lenders used to require that the lease payment be counted against the borrower even if the car was returned, because it was assumed the borrower would get another lease.
