A quick note about buy now, pay later apps. While these are extremely convenient, we recommend avoiding using them if you are shopping for a home. The app history and installment payments are not reported to the credit bureaus. That sounds great, BUT, if you've been pre-approved based on a credit pull, then your bank statements show multiple additional payments to these sources, it creates a documentation project for you! In some cases, the additional payment may be added to your debt-to-income ratio. Just something to keep in mind if a mortgage is in your near future!
