⏰ FALL BACK. CHECK YOUR SMOKE ALARMS. 🚨

Clocks turn back one hour this Sunday, November 1! Use the reminder to make sure your smoke alarms are ready to protect you and your family.

The Arlington Fire Department encourages you to:

✅ TEST every smoke alarm monthly using the test button.

✅ CHANGE replaceable batteries at least once a year, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Sealed 10-year batteries do not need changing.

✅ CHECK THE DATE on the back of your alarms. Replace them when they are 10 years old—or sooner if they fail a monthly test.

✅ CHECK YOUR COVERAGE. Install smoke alarms inside every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area, and on every level of your home.

Working smoke alarms give you early warning and valuable time to escape. Take a few minutes this weekend to check yours! 🚒
