Enrollment for the County ARC/PLC payments are open. Be sure to visit your FSA office to get signed up. PCI Agents can give estimated payments to figure out which option might be best for your county. Keep in mind, if you took SCO on your 2026 Crop Insurance Policy, you are not just limited to enrolling in PLC.

FSA is adding 30 million new base acres nationwide to strengthen the farm safety net. Now that the base allocation process is complete, FSA is announcing enrollment in the Agriculture Risk Coverage (ARC) and Price Loss Coverage (PLC) programs for the 2026 and 2027 crop years. There are parts of the Midwest that have been smashed with floods this summer. Please read over the wording from RMA about flooded crops. This is handled differently that quality adjustments.
If you have flooded crops, please contact your agent. A claim must be filed and adjuster needs to inspect for an appraisal before a crop can be destroyed.

Richard Fordyce, USDA undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation, spoke about ARC, PLC and CRP payments in an interview with DTN at the Farm Progress Show. Fordyce said the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC) has sufficient funds available for both ARC-PLC payments and CRP rental payments.

From August 15th through September 14th, the projected price for fall planted wheat is happening. As of the close of markets on 9/1, wheat across the Midwest states is averaging $7.50.
Sales closing to sign up for wheat or make changes to an existing policy is 9/30/2026
