OPTIONS.

See the attached screen shot of recent buy and sell activity in my TDAmeritrade account.

You'll notice a purchase on NVAX. I bought a single call option for $335.67 on 04.30.2020.

A positive announcement on Tuesday morning 05.12.2020, less than two weeks later regarding NVAX exploded the stock from ~$15.00 to ~$40.00 in round numbers overnight!

Had I just bought the stock, I would have more than doubled my money - a 266% increase - a tremendous profit of 557.21!

But because I chose an option, the $335.67 investment turned into $1,829.29, a whopping 545% increase and a profit of $1,493.62 - each with the identical amount of money invested.

Options are risky due to the possibility of their expiring for a value of less than what you put in, and they can even expire worthless -zero, but if you've got good timing and you're betting on a great company that makes a health discovery, a technological advancement, or beats their quarterly earnings projections, the option choice will make the greater return.

If you're really confident in the likelihood of a positive or negative development with a certain company, you can buy both the regular stock AND one or more options and profit from both choices!

A lot of people dislike volatility, but that very condition, and one we're in right now due to Covid-19, can make you a ton of money whether the stock goes up or down.
