Band Day 2026 edition.. the Algona Area Chamber of Commerce hosts such a fun event for our community of Algona. So many parade entries and amazing marching bands to watch.

This year was a little extra special for us as our daughter had the honor to be the one of the drum majors for the Algona middle school band. Haley & I are beyond proud of her!

Welcome to Algona!

The Algona Police Department welcomed a new officer to the team this week. Originally from the New York City area, Officer Kevin Tapia came to Iowa to attend Waldorf University where he earned his degree in criminal justice. Officer Tapia is bilingual and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Welcome, Officer Tapia!

Today, our community takes a moment to remember September 11, 2001.

We remember the thousands of innocent lives lost, the families who continue to feel that loss, and the countless first responders and everyday Americans who showed incredible courage and selflessness.

Twenty-five years later, the stories, the sacrifice, and the lessons of that day remain part of who we are.

As a local business and part of this community, we are grateful for the people who protect, serve, and care for others every day. We are grateful for our neighbors, our first responders, our military families, and everyone who continues to look out for one another.

Today, let’s take a moment to remember those we lost, thank those who served, and appreciate the people beside us.
