A lot has changed since January.

The 2026 bull case was built on deregulation, tax cuts, a Gen AI capex boom, and Fed rate cuts. The setup appeared reasonable.

Then the headwinds hit — the conflict in the middle east leading to surging oil prices, inflation expectations jumping, the Fed essentially frozen, and stagflation now on the table.

The opportunity may still exist. But the conversation has to be more nuanced than it was six months ago.

If you'd like to talk through what this means for your portfolio, drop a comment or send me a message — I'm happy to connect.

Your equity comp has two clocks. Most people only track one.

The comp clock: vesting, exercise windows, tax withholding.

The ownership clock: concentration, liquidity, when to diversify.

The longer you hold a concentrated position, the more your plan depends on one company's path.

That's not a risk most people plan for – until they're already in it.

If you have equity compensation and would like to discuss your strategy, feel free to reach out.

2026 Midyear Investment Outlook

Three words. That's all Morgan Stanley needed to describe the U.S. economy right now.

Capex Over Consumption.

Here's what that means:
AI-driven corporate investment is booming. Companies are spending at historic levels on infrastructure, technology, and energy security.

But the American consumer? Starting to buckle. Rising energy costs are quietly draining household budgets — and it's showing up in spending data.

Morgan Stanley anticipates a 2.3% U.S. GDP growth in 2026 — no recession in the base case. But the engine of growth has shifted. It's no longer the consumer carrying us. It's capital investment.

What does that mean for your portfolio? The answer isn't the same for everyone.

Let's talk about where you stand.

Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave everything.

Freedom is never free — and neither is the future we're building for our families.

This Memorial Day, we're grateful for their sacrifice and committed to serving those who served. If you or someone you love is a veteran or active military family navigating financial decisions, we're here to assist.

Thank you.

Gold is supposed to shine when the world gets uncertain.

So why is it down?

Since the Iran conflict began, gold has dropped roughly 10% — while equities have largely recovered. That's not the safe-haven story most investors expected.

According to Morgan Stanley Research, the reason is straightforward: monetary policy is now the dominant price driver for gold — not geopolitical risk. When an energy shock pushes inflation higher and delays rate cuts, gold feels it.

The good news? Morgan Stanley still sees a path to recovery — projecting prices could potentially climb to $5,200/oz in the second half of 2026 as central banks resume purchases and the Fed signals future cuts.

Markets don't always behave the way we expect. That's exactly why having a guide matters.

Questions about how gold fits — or doesn't fit — in your portfolio? Let's talk.

Happy Mother's Day to every woman who has poured herself into the people she loves!

I especially want to wish a happy Mother's Day to the woman who makes our family—and our life—work.

Parenting is a team sport, and I'm grateful every day for the partnership we share: the planning, the patience, the encouragement, and the steady support that keeps our home grounded and our kids thriving.

I also don't take for granted what that partnership makes possible professionally. The support you give our family gives me the focus and peace of mind to show up fully for my clients—listening closely, staying proactive, and delivering the level of care they deserve.

Thank you for everything you do, seen and unseen!

We're lucky to have you, and I'm lucky to do life with you!

It's been one of those weeks where you had to stay close to the news.

Three things dominated my attention — and I think they're worth understanding heading into next week.
The Middle East. The ceasefire we had been watching cracked this week. The UAE intercepted Iranian missiles, oil jumped to $106 a barrel, and the 30-year Treasury yield briefly crossed 5%. The Dow dropped 550 points in a single session. Markets can be volatile, and having a plan can help manage reactions to headlines.

Earnings. This is the part that surprised me. Despite everything going on geopolitically, many S&P 500 companies have beaten earnings estimates this season. The underlying corporate picture is stronger than the noise would suggest.

The Fed. No movement. No cuts. Next meeting isn't until June 16th and rate futures are pricing in virtually zero chance of anything changing. Inflation is still running above target and energy prices aren't helping. Higher for longer is still the reality — and I think a lot of people haven't fully adjusted their thinking to that yet.

The jobs report drops tomorrow (May 8th). That's the last big piece of data before we head into the weekend.

We aim to assist you in understanding what these developments mean for your specific situation.
