No one is exempt from telephone scammers!

My office was just contacted by Deputy Walters at Yamhill County Sheriff's Department to inform us they had a resident in McMinnville, OR report receiving a call from someone claiming to be from Mike Allen & Associates' Independent Insurance Brokerage which Trinity is part of asking for pre-paid gift cards to pay for "insurance related legal fees".

The intended victim was wise enough to realize it was a scam and reported the call. The number the call came from was 1-888-502-0475 but there was no caller ID.

So, if you receive a call from anyone claiming to be with Allen & Associates' Independent Insurance Brokerage asking for gift cards or personal information, please hang up and report the call to Yamhill County Sheriff's non-emergency office line at (503) 434-7506. Obviously, the scammers don't understand insurance agency operations well enough to know agencies do not use gift cards in policy or claims transactions or in any formal capacity.

Nevertheless, we want all of our customers and friends in the community to know this is happening, be safe, and avoid a potentially costly mistake.
