September is just around the corner, which means if you are currently enrolled in a Medicare Advantage or Part D Prescription Drug plan, a very important document is heading your way: your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC) letter.
It can be tempting to toss this thick packet into the recycling bin, but please don't! Your ANOC outlines exactly how your current Medicare plan will change for 2027.
When your letter arrives, grab a cup of coffee and double-check these three critical details:
- Prescription costs: Are your daily medications still on the plan's formulary, and are the copays changing?
- Provider networks: Are your preferred Mid-Valley doctors and specialists still going to be in-network next year?
- Out-of-Pocket maximums: Is your monthly premium or maximum out-of-pocket limit increasing?
If you don't like the changes you see, you have the power to switch plans during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7).
Confused by the paperwork? Let me make it simple!
Don't try to decipher the insurance jargon alone. As your local Albany independent broker, I can sit down with you, review your ANOC letter, and compare the top plans to ensure you have the perfect fit for your doctors, prescriptions, and budget.
Best of all? My guidance is always provided at absolutely NO COST to you.
