When they get money, ask:

Before summer plans get busy, take a few minutes to map the trip into three buckets:

1๏ธโƒฃ Trip cost
Transportation, lodging, and the basics you already know are coming.

2๏ธโƒฃ Trip spending
Food, activities, small purchases, and the โ€œweโ€™re on holidayโ€ extras.

3๏ธโƒฃ Trip after-effects
Anything that lands after you return - pets, childcare, time off work, or catching back up.

Then ask one question before you go:

๐Ÿ‘‰ โ€œWhich part of this trip do I want to pay for intentionally, instead of letting it blur into my normal month?โ€

This isnโ€™t about taking the fun out of the trip.
Itโ€™s about knowing what youโ€™re saying yes to.
