Taking the 10X Program to the ground: Empowering young women entrepreneurs across Elgon
and Bukedi.
Despite being onboarded into the 10X Program: Digitally Empowered Women Entrepreneurs (DEW), there remains a knowledge gap around how to fully leverage the program.
Last week, the dfcu Foundation team conducted field visits across 8 districts in the Elgon and Bukedi regions that is, Mbale, Sironko, Bulambuli, Budaka, Paliisa, Kibuku, Tororo and Busia, to deepen engagement and expand awareness of the 10X Program. During these engagements, we actively promoted the program among young women entrepreneurs while highlighting dfcu Foundation’s role and commitment to advancing digital inclusion for women and MSMEs.
We engaged directly with up to 800 women, helping them better understand the opportunities available through the program and providing practical guidance on how to access support such as digital skills training, tools for running businesses online, and connections to ecosystem partners. The visits also served to build anticipation and readiness for the upcoming capacity-strengthening workshops, which will focus on digital platforms, digital credit, and digital marketing.
