Wealth today crosses borders, careers, and generations.

For Global Indians, that usually means banking in one country and custodians in several, with advisors who understand only half the journey. Structures get built in isolation. Families are left to make sense of the rest on their own.

Lighthouse Canton's Global Indian brings both sides of the corridor into a single relationship, with cross-border structuring, India investment access, and regulatory navigation across the jurisdictions that matter. Built over a decade of serving clients whose financial lives have always spanned geographies.

India’s private credit market has growing demand for a secondary market that is yet to scale.

Pranob Gupta, Managing Director and Business Head for India Alternatives (Credit & Hybrid Strategies) at Lighthouse Canton, shared his views with Mansi Verma and Priyamvada C from Mint. He points to where the constraint sits. “Appetite exists on the demand side; the supply side is the real question,” he said. Differences in fund processes, limited information sharing, a lack of uniform rating frameworks and managers’ preference for originating primary deals remain the constraints.

Globally, the market is more developed. Evercore’s 2025 Credit Secondary Market Survey recorded global credit-secondary volumes nearly doubling to $20 billion in 2025. India could follow that path as more funds mature, with the first wave of domestic AIFs from 2018 to 2022 now approaching maturity and potentially creating more natural sellers.

The rupee was 45 to the dollar in 2011. It is over 90 now.

If you moved abroad around then and left money in Indian assets without managing the currency exposure, roughly half the dollar value of those holdings has gone. Nothing had to go wrong for that to happen.

The reason it rarely gets caught early is that no single relationship covers the whole portfolio. Each adviser sees the assets held in their own jurisdiction. The exposure that runs across all of them belongs to nobody in particular.

Here's our latest report on what the wealth industry built for Indians living outside India, and why so much of it does not fit.

Asia’s wealth story is entering a new phase.

As family office capabilities mature and succession moves from discussion to active ex*****on, wealthy Asian families are rethinking where and how their capital is structured. Increasingly, the focus is on keeping wealth closer to home, with greater emphasis on clarity, governance and long-term continuity.

Hong Kong and Singapore are also evolving as complementary hubs, each serving different needs within a broader regional wealth strategy.

In this LC Ideas: Views & Insights piece, Charlene Lin, Managing Director, Wealth Management, Greater China and Asia Market at Lighthouse Canton, explores what is driving this shift and what it means for the next generation of Asian wealth.

Markets move the narrative, and India's latest earnings season may be doing exactly that.

Abhay Laijawala, Managing Director, Chief Investment Officer - India at Lighthouse Canton spoke to Surabhi Upadhyay from Moneycontrol and shared his views on the shift underway in Indian equities.

Watch his interview here: https://okt.to/horfg5

Sectoral themes Abhay is watching:

Transmission and grid: order books have expanded sharply as India's renewable energy transition, an estimated $300 billion investment over the next five years, drives urgency around grid capacity

Autos and auto ancillaries: positioned to benefit as volumes recover from a subdued couple of years

Paints: competitive intensity easing, with stabilising oil prices, a key raw material, as the next catalyst

Behind the earnings numbers, Abhay sees a broader shift taking hold. Industrial production and corporate credit growth are both accelerating together for the first time in nearly a decade, a combination he reads as a sign that India's growth is moving toward a sustained 8% real GDP trajectory.

A sharp drawdown can change the mood quickly. It does not always change the underlying thesis.

Across defence tech, uranium and metals, recent price action has been significant, but many of the structural drivers remain intact.

In our latest CIO Insights, “In Defence of Defence,” Sunil Garg, CMT, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Lighthouse Canton, looks at the gap between sentiment and fundamentals, the signals we are watching, and why we see the current setup as a regroup, not a retreat.

The takeaway: this is not an “everything is cheap” call. Selectivity matters, and so does waiting for confirmation.
