"Overall, prices of all items increased by 7.5%. If we exclude accommodation, inflation actually increased to 8.2% compared to last August. MAS expects the labour market to remain tight and wage growth to remain strong. Given the firm consumer spending, businesses are also likely to pass on increases in labour costs and the prices of fuel, utilities and other imported inputs to consumer prices. This, in conjunction with imported inflation, will keep inflation going."

Singapore’s core inflation reached a new high of 5.1% in August 2022, this is the highest since November 2008. Headline inflation reached 7.5%.

Parenting is tough, but it was also a choice.

Recently had a conversation with a friend, who was sharing about his worries on his finances while doing family planning.

No doubt it is an additional commitment, but it could also be a very rewarding one, at least if you were to ask me.

For those who knows me well enough, probably knows that i set aside more than 80% of my income for the family, and planning for our future, including my daughter's.

One may ask, aren't you doing too much?

See, this is where it gets contradicting.

Most parents want the best for their children, but there's literally a price tag to almost everything. It's probably never going to be enough.

Apart from just $$$, the most valuable thing we can give to our children is our time. Trust me on that.

Last night when my girl woke at 4am.due to her fever, the first thing she said was: "i want to go drink water together with papa". Awww~~

Finances is just about allocating it right, and working what's best within our means. Of course, there's always the option to look for higher income sources.

What matter most is to get to the roots of the problems. It could either be you are not using your resources right, or you simply need to acquire higher income generating skills.

Parenting is tough, but for those who learn to appreciates it, will definitely choose to do it all over again!

Peace! ✌️
