🚫 MYTHBUSTER #96 - ā€œTechnical Analysis Is Just Drawing Lines. It Isn’t Real.ā€
šŸ¤” Why Some Investors Dismiss It
Random trendlines, too many indicators and patterns identified only after the move can make technical analysis seem arbitrary.

But poor application of a tool doesn’t necessarily invalidate the tool itself.

The Reality
Technical analysis examines price behaviour, market structure and areas of buying and selling activity.
Support, resistance and other key levels can become significant when market participants pay attention to them and make trading decisions around them.

Where the Value Lies
Technical analysis isn’t about predicting exactly where the market will go next.
Used within a disciplined framework, it can help traders:
šŸ”¹ Identify potential entry and exit levels
šŸ”¹ Determine when a trade idea may be invalidated
šŸ”¹ Set clearer stop-loss and risk parameters
šŸ”¹ Reduce emotion-driven decisions

šŸ’” Takeaway
Technical analysis isn’t a crystal ball. It’s a framework for structuring trading decisions and managing risk.
The goal isn’t to predict every move. It’s to have a plan for how to respond when the market moves.

Singapore’s Next 50 Stocks: Where Could the Next Growth Opportunities Be?

The Singapore market extends beyond the STI’s 30 blue chips, with the Next 50 offering exposure to a broader group of mid- and small-cap companies across technology, semiconductors, consumer, transport and REITs.

The newly listed CGS Fullgoal Singapore Next 50 Active ETF (SGX: Q50) gives investors access to this next tier of Singapore-listed companies through an actively managed, quantitative strategy.

From AEM Holdings, UMS Integration and Frencken Group to iFAST, Sheng Siong, ComfortDelGro, Suntec REIT and Keppel REIT, these companies highlight the diverse opportunities beyond Singapore’s traditional blue-chip names.

Next 50. Emerging Companies. New Opportunities.

Singapore Stocks, Within Easier Reach šŸ‡øšŸ‡¬

Singapore’s biggest stocks used to require thousands of dollars upfront.

That’s about to change.

From 5 October 2026, SGX is reducing the minimum board lot size for 11 selected stocks, including DBS, OCBC and UOB.

Instead of buying a minimum of 100 shares, investors will be able to buy just 10 shares for selected stocks priced above S$10 and up to S$100.

That means less capital needed upfront and more flexibility to start building a Singapore portfolio.

Swipe to see what’s changing and why it matters.

šŸ›¢ļø Oil is climbing again. But is the market pricing something bigger? šŸ‘€
WTI and Brent gained around 5% in the previous session as US-Iran tensions and disruption in the Strait of Hormuz put global oil flows back in focus.

The question now: Is crude shifting from pricing the risk of conflict to the cost of a prolonged one?
