The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has released ₱7.3 billion in loan amortization refunds to 525,447 members and pensioners under its Balik Ginhawa program as of April 20, with partner banks directed to complete the remaining payouts within the next few working days.
GSIS President and General Manager Jose Arnulfo "Wick" Veloso said the refunds comply with a presidential directive to provide immediate relief, with the program covering a one-time refund of up to three months of loan amortizations from December 2025 to February 2026, free of additional interest or penalties.
The initiative is part of the government's UPLIFT package aimed at easing the impact of the fuel crisis on workers and their families.
Applications are processed through the GSIS Touch mobile app, with approved refunds credited within three working days and ineligible members notified through the same platform.
The program remains voluntary and open until October 31, 2026.
