We are deeply grateful and proud to receive the first tranche of the 2026 SME financing support from the National Government of Papua New Guinea.
An important step forward in our continued mission to expand access to finance for the informal sector, rural communities, MSMEs, and SMEs across the country. This support is more than financing- it is an investment in the aspirations, resilience, and potential of thousands of Papua New Guineans. It will help us reach underserved communities and provide accessible, flexible, affordable financial solutions to help people start, strengthen, and grow their businesses.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the National Government of Papua New Guinea, the Department of Commerce and Industry, Hon. Wake Goi, MP, Minister for Commerce and Industry, and the entire team for their continued confidence, partnership, and commitment towards inclusive economic development. This partnership reflects what we believe at Mama Bank: access to finance can improve livelihoods, create jobs, strengthen families, and build stronger local economies through a micro-finance model, reaching the unreached. With this support, we aim to reach 10,000 women entrepreneurs across the informal, MSME, and SME sectors, helping them improve their livelihoods, strengthen and grow their businesses.
A special note of appreciation to our Chairlady, Dr. Elizabeth Kopel, in the absence of our CEO, Gunannidhi Dash, for representing and receiving the cheque on behalf of the Bank. Our earnest gratitude also goes to our Board, Management, and every member of our dedicated staff across the country. Your commitment, hard work, and belief in the micro-financing model continue to make a meaningful difference in the social and economic lives of people across PNG. Together, we will continue to take finance closer to the people, from rural communities and informal markets to MSMEs and growing businesses, ensuring that access to easy and affordable financing reaches the last mile.
The journey continues!!
