Happy Wednesday to you all!

Coming to you today with some statistics for 'Vital Signs of Health & Wellbeing' from our friends at Southern Cross.

84% - are concerned about not having access to quality, affordable healthcare. A further 82% are worried about accessing cancer treatments.

92% - the majority of us feel we're not getting enough exercise, the average is 30 minutes, 3 times a week. 92% of us feel knowledgeable about eating healthy, but 72% also see va**ng as a big concern.

78% - of us are worried about the impact of social media on our self-esteem. Just 12% of New Zealanders are unhappy about their state of mind, and the majority of us are taking steps to look after our emotional and mental wellbeing.

88% - of us say work life balance is important, but only 43% described their own positively. New Zealanders are also becoming more conscious of supporting elderly parents or relatives - this was the third top emotional wellbeing concern in 2024.

Brought to you by the NZ based Tend who provide online doctors appointments are bringing an empowering week dedicated to the health of all Kiwi women.

Currently, more than half (57%) of women don't get regular health checks. In recent survey's carried out, 40% of participants didn't feel comfortable talking about their health with their friends and furthermore, more than 38% have never talked with their mother or female caregiver about their periods and more than 58% have never talked about menopause!

It's Monday! Not sure how we got back here already but hey, let's rock on in to another week!

A little update for you this morning from our friends at Southern Cross. Below is data for the period 01/04/24 - 30/06/24. Have a look at the amount of claims and amounts paid out during this period.

The last image shows claims that have been paid out on our precious children, Age 0-19, (not mine, she's uninsurable! 😝 ), these are some interesting numbers. A lot of tonsils disappearing!

These figures are always good to cast your eye over, it can sure bring some things to light.
