Moneywise Manawatu celebrate Samoan Language Week and also acknowledge the Samoan culture, traditions, and contributions of Samoan communities in Aotearoa New Zealand.

A special day during the week is 1 June, marking Samoa's Independence Day. On this day in 1962, Samoa became the first Pacific Island nation to regain independence in the 20th century.

Let's take this opportunity to learn, share, and celebrate the richness of Samoan culture and language.

🌟 Paula goes to UCOL! 🌟

Paula popped over to the UCOL campus last Thursday and again yesterday to deliver Money Management workshops. She shared practical, real‑life tips to help students manage their money with a bit more confidence (and a bit less stress 😅).

It was awesome to see people getting stuck in, asking great questions, and genuinely wanting to learn more about their finances 💬💡

One topic that really got the students talking was good debt vs bad debt — turns out good debt really is a thing (who knew?! 😄). Students also appreciated getting their heads around the basics of budgeting — we hope their future-selves will be thankful to their present‑selves for gaining that skill.

💚 Moneywise Manawatū wishes all UCOL students every success as they head into their futures. Keep learning, keep asking questions, and keep taking charge of your financial wellbeing — your wallet will thank you 💰✨
