CELEBRATING OUR CHAMPIONS!!!
As the nation continues to celebrate the outstanding achievement of the Malawi Scorchers at the 2026 WAFCON and their historic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Womenโs World Cup, Msilikali SACCO (MSACCO), proudly joins the nation in celebrating the team for their remarkable performance, determination and achievement.
As part of celebrations, MSACCO recognized and presented a token of appreciation of MWK1,000,000 each to two of its members, Asimenye Simwaka and Sabina Thom, for being part of the exceptional team.
The handover ceremony was graced by the MSACCO Board Chairperson, Lt Col Andrew Kamponda, who congratulated the ladies for carrying the national flag with distinction. In his remarks, the Board Chairperson emphasized that while Asimenye and Sabina proudly represented the nation, their achievements are equally a source of pride for the entire MSACCO family.
The dummy cheque was presented to Asimenye Simwaka, who also received the award on behalf of Sabina Thom (in absentia).
We are proud of you, Scorchers, and wish you all continued success as you inspire Malawi, excel on the football pitch, and continue to fly the nationโs flag with distinction. We are equally proud of our members, Asimenye and Sabina, for representing both Malawi and MSACCO with excellence.
