If you handed in your notice this summer, today's probably the first day of September without a tutor room, a class list, a lanyard by the door.
That's not a small thing, whatever anyone tells you.

For everyone else still weighing it up: the notice deadline for most contracts falls months before the leaving itself. Worth knowing now, not next spring, and worth talking it through with someone who isn't selling you anything. No product, no agenda, just help thinking it through.

That's rather the point. A holiday sends you a reminder because the balance falls due. Retirement never does.

I'm building something for teachers thinking seriously about the end of their career.
Not a webinar, not a sales pitch, a proper programme.

First group early next year. Before I build it, I want to know what teachers genuinely want answered, rather than what I assume they want answered.

No red carpet, no big stage. Just me, a certificate, and a very ordinary Tuesday.

Earlier today I picked up the Retirement Coach of the Year 2026 award from Prestige Awards, on a one-to-one basis rather than the ceremony you might be picturing. Straight back to the office afterwards, award parked on the desk while the day carried on as normal.

That feels about right, actually. The best moments in this work rarely come with fireworks either. Usually it's just a quiet conversation where someone finally feels clear about what comes next.

Proper photos are still on their way, but I didn't want to wait for the polished version to share the news.

Thank you to everyone who's trusted me with this work over the years. None of this happens without you.

They land in your lap constantly, and most people just file them away, half believed, and carry on.

The more useful move is turning it into your own question.

Not “is this enough,” but “is this enough for the life I want.” That's the bit that actually moves you forward.
