Velocity Financial Planning

Velocity Financial Planning At Velocity, we show our clients how to think about wealth differently. They start with an ending and as we all know, letting go can be painful.

Our purpose is to help you experience the full benefit and potential of your wealth, so that you can live more richly, in every way. Planning with Purpose

Traditionally, we’re taught to think about wealth in just one way: how much have I got and how do I get more? We’re encouraged to spend a lifetime accumulating wealth without asking ourselves what its true value is. Life Transitions

We special

ise in working with people who are going through a life transition. Whether it is starting a family, the end of a relationship, retirement, or the loss of a loved one, all life transitions are characterised by significant change, both emotionally and financially. However, it’s often only when we reach a transition point in our life, or a time of challenge, that we stop and ask ourselves if the way we’re living is really making us happy and serving our needs. A transition is therefore also an opportunity to create, renew and refocus. It’s a time when we rediscover or re-establish our direction of travel – our purpose.

You’ve probably seen the recent ISA headlines. But what's actually changing?

From April 2027, there are two key ISA changes to be aware of:

- The Cash ISA limit will reduce to £12,000 for under-65s
- Interest earned on assets held in non-cash ISAs will be subject to 22% tax

The overall ISA allowance will still be £20,000, but how you use it might need a rethink.

In our latest blog, we explain what's changing and what it could mean for your savings and investments.

A recent article from the BBC reports that scammers stole almost £1.3 billion in 2025 - with nearly eight cases of fraud reported every minute. 🤯

With those figures in mind, could you spot a scam before it was too late?🤔

According to Which?, 9 in 10 people believe they could identify a scam email or text. Yet scam attempts are becoming more frequent, more believable and, sadly, more damaging.

In our latest blog, we look at some of the psychological tricks scammers use, including:

- creating urgency
- pretending to be someone in authority
- building trust over time
- playing on emotions
- using confusing financial language

A useful reminder to pause, question, and double check before sharing information or moving money.

📢 New guide available to download! 📢

As the summer holidays come to an end and children head back to school, it's often one of those moments that reminds parents just how quickly the years seem to fly by. 🥲

One minute they are taking their first steps or saying their first words. Before you know it, they are starting school, and you are thinking about how best to support their future.

That might mean school fees, university costs, first rent deposits, or simply giving them a bit more financial breathing room as they step into adult life.

Our latest guide looks at how creating a dedicated nest egg could help you support the people you love most, while keeping your own long-term plans on track.

Investing isn't something people are simply born knowing how to do.

Like most things, confidence comes with learning, practice and building good habits over time.

In our latest blog, we look at five ways to feel more confident as an investor, from understanding the basics and setting clear goals, to starting small, trusting your strategy and continuing to ask questions.

You don't need to know everything on day one. But with the right plan, a bit of patience and support along the way, investing can start to feel a lot less daunting.

Life insurance or family income benefit? The difference matters.

Both help protect the people you love, but they work in different ways...

Life insurance usually pays out a lump sum, which can be useful for things like paying off a mortgage or covering larger costs.

Family income benefit is different. It usually provides regular payments for a set period, which can help loved ones manage day to day living costs.

For some families, one option may be enough. For others, a combination could provide a more suitable safety net.

In our latest blog, we explain the key differences, the pros and cons of each, and why the right cover depends on your family, your priorities and the peace of mind you are looking for.

Could paying into your child’s pension be a smart way to support their future?

More families are starting to think about pension contributions for children and adult children, especially as part of wider conversations around passing on wealth.

It's not the right route for everyone, and there are some important things to consider first, but for some families, it could be worth exploring.

In our latest blog, we look at how regular contributions may help to:
• support a child’s long term financial future.
• give their pension more time to grow.
• benefit from tax relief.
• pass on wealth in a potentially tax efficient way.

Earning more than £100,000 doesn't have to mean falling into a tax trap.

Once income passes £100,000, the tapering of the Personal Allowance can create a hidden tax trap and make the numbers feel less straightforward than expected.

In our latest blog, we explain how it works, why it can influence decisions around pay rises and promotions, and some of the steps that may help reduce the impact.

There is more than one way to pass on wealth to the people you care about.

For some, it means gifting during their lifetime. For others, it could involve a will, a pension expression of wish, or a trust.

The right approach will depend on your circumstances, your wishes, and the role you want your wealth to play in the lives of the people you love.

In our latest blog, we look at four ways you could choose to pass on assets to loved ones, and some of the things worth thinking about along the way.
