There’s something pretty special about spending Christmas in a home that’s finally yours.

If moving before the festive season is the goal, getting your mortgage plans underway sooner rather than later could give you more time to prepare.

There’s never a guarantee that a move will happen by a particular date, but there are things you can do that may help keep your plans on track:

📄Get your paperwork together
Having your payslips, bank statements, proof of ID and other documents ready can help keep things moving when you’re ready to apply.

Banks, lenders and solicitors may not be working as normal, which can mean applications, payments and paperwork take a little longer.

Nothing to panic about, but if you're working towards a mortgage offer, exchange or completion, it's worth allowing a little extra time.
