Can you use your remortgage to extend your home?

YES, many people use their remortgage this way.

It’s a great option if you love your home but just want to create more space.

You can do an equity release and receive a cash lump sum to fund it.

This could also increase equity in your home, so hopefully next time your remortgage comes round you may have access to a better rate by improving your loan to value (LTV).

Have you always dreamed of that extra room?

Did you know you could BUY a home at university instead of renting?

With student rent now averaging £563 a month, this episode of On the Ladder might just change the way you think about uni accommodation.

We've teamed up with Loughborough Building Society to talk about Buy for University mortgages: how students can buy a home, live in it, and rent spare rooms to friends to help cover the mortgage.

It's one of those options so many families simply don't know exists and we think you should know.

You're looking the wrong way 👀

The headlines are telling you that you can't buy. We're here to tell you that you CAN.

Recently a lady messaged us asking how much she could borrow. She's earning £31,000, and she could borrow £186,000, enough to buy a £200,000 home on her own. Her reply? "Wow, that's so much more than I thought."

THAT'S the gap. So many of you are sitting on the sidelines saving, waiting, assuming it's out of reach, when actually you might be far closer than you think.

And here's the thing: lenders are asking US what they can do to help first-time buyers. The more of you we talk to, the louder your voice becomes.
So tell us 👇 What's the gap between where you are now and owning your own home? Drop it in the comments, your answer could genuinely shape what lenders offer next.

What if asking for help cost you everything?

That was Paul Adams' reality. A successful professional, a father, and a man quietly drowning, too afraid that seeking help would destroy the reputation he'd spent years building. This Men's Health Month, Paul sat down with us and said the quiet part out loud. Because how many men are suffering in silence right now for exactly the same reason?

£30 per month could save you £25,000 on your mortgage bill‼️

But how?

FOLLOW ME for more mortgage and homebuying tips‼️

I was recently asked by The Sun what tips I would have for people who want to pay back their mortgage as quickly as possible🗞️

I spoke about the power of overpayments on your mortgage, and how quickly they can compound over time. Saving just £30 a month can save a huge £25,000 in interest over the duration of your mortgage.

I also discussed other ways of growing your money, such as investing in a Stocks & Shares ISA monthly instead. Historically, stock market returns can outpace mortgage interest rates, though this is never guaranteed, and this can be a different way of repaying your mortgage early and saving yourself interest in the long run.

Do you make overpayments on your mortgage or would you rather invest the money instead?

This is what it takes to effect change, the courage to tell our stories.

From June 15th to June 21st it's Men's Health Week. Paul Adams from Pepper Money joined us to share his own health struggles, when he began to use alcohol as a crutch to deal with difficult situations. It's a powerful conversation that we want to keep sharing, so hopefully Paul's Story can help others seek the support they need.

I think we all know someone in Paul's situation, and I'd like to thank him for his bravery in sharing his recovery journey.

Day 4/30 of helping 1 million people save £££ on their mortgage 🏡

Moving in the next 5 years? Then a 5 year fixed rate is probably NOT for you, and here's why 👇

Early repayment charges can cost you thousands if you need to exit your mortgage early to move home. That's money straight down the drain.
So what SHOULD you be looking at?

- A 2 year fixed rate, if you want certainty in your monthly payments
- A tracker rate, if you're happy with a little flexibility and want to avoid early repayment charges altogether

The right mortgage isn't just about grabbing the lowest rate. It's about finding the one that actually fits YOUR life and YOUR plans.
That's what a good adviser does, they ask the RIGHT questions before recommending anything.

Hit FOLLOW for more mortgage tips.

This June is Men's Mental Health Month, and ahead of Father's Day, we wanted to mark it with something real.

For our very first guest episode, we were honoured to be joined by Paul Adams of Pepper Money, who spoke with extraordinary courage about his experience with alcohol dependency and recovery.

The statistics behind why this conversation matters are stark:
- 3 in 4 su***des in the UK are male
- Men are 3 times more likely to die by su***de than women
- 5,717 people lost their lives to su***de in the UK in 2024

Men are often conditioned to keep going, keep providing, keep it together. But that silence has a cost.

As a mother of sons, a wife, and a sister, I want that to change. As do we all.

This episode is a step toward that.
