New Approved Mileage Allowance Rates for 2026-27

HMRC has announced new Approved Mileage Allowance rates for the 2026–2027 financial year.

Although the announcement was only made a few days ago, the changes will be backdated to apply from 6th April 2026.

The updated rates are:

👉 Cars and vans - 55p per mile for the first 10,000 business miles, then 25p per mile thereafter.

👉 Motorbikes - 24p per mile for all business miles.

If you claim business mileage, these updated rates could affect your allowable expenses and reimbursement calculations for the current tax year.
