Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside our control, in conjunction with St James’ church we have had to postpone today’s Songs of Love and Praise concert due to illness.

Tickets will be refunded via the church for those who have purchased them and a new date will be arranged forthwith. We apologise to all who were planning to attend but we will reschedule and ensure plenty of notice is given for the new date.

We’re pleased to now be working with Remorin sculptures who are offering this new product to the funeral profession and beyond.

These sculptures are made using your own photos of a loved one and are a lasting keepsake that can go alongside cremated remains or photo tributes or indeed anything else you may choose.

Importantly, you receive a proof prior to production to ensure you’re totally happy with the product.

Feel free to ask any questions here or you are of course welcome to pop into either of our offices to view them yourself.

David said;
‘A very interesting addition to the huge assortment of tributes available throughout the funeral profession which I am confident will bring loved ones comfort. There are of course so many different options and we are pleased to work with another family company to offer this option should families wish to use them. The product itself is of excellent quality and Steve and the team are dedicated to high standards’.

5 Years at Southport today!

It only seems like yesterday we took the keys for 137-139 Manchester Road to offer a committed, professional and loving funeral service in the area and we’re proud to have renewed our lease today to continue serving our local community.

When we took on the project, there were times when we thought it may have been more than we could cope with but, through sheer perseverance and a drive to help, we succeeded and we are honoured to have helped so many families in the area.

We worked tirelessly to provide a warm, inviting, friendly space for people to feel at home when they walk through our doors at one of the worst times in their lives and we remain committed to helping people when they need it most.

Please, if you haven’t already, do come and visit our southport funeral home and have a brew with one of our lovely team. We are always on hand and available to talk.

Since our opening, we have supported lots of local charities including conducting our ever popular ‘Songs of Love and Praise’ concerts supporting Bebes Hive and local churches. We are blessed to be surrounded by the most wonderful care provisions and professionals in our area.

As you’ll see from some of the pictures, it takes an amazing, loyal group of people to make something like this happen and we are forever thankful and grateful to them all.

Thank you to all in our community for supporting an independent, local, family run business. Thank you to Stand Up For Southport for the support they have given to our events throughout the years and for all they do to promote our wonderful town.

With all our love and our commitment for many years to come,

David, Charles and the Massam and Marshall team (family) 💕

20 years, whilst a substantial sentence, will never be enough for what happened in Hull to all those families who have suffered at the hands of that terrible man. Our thoughts and prayers remain with them.

We hope this incident goes to push our government into full regulation of the funeral profession, allowing spot inspections and legal sanctions where needed.

We are proudly voluntary members of SAIF independent funeral directors and as such, face inspections and adhere to a code of practice and furthermore, David, the Managing Director is an inspector himself and visits funeral homes across England and Wales to check their compliance.

We are an open book, we are open about everything we do and furthermore we are proud of how we care for those we are looking after. We treat everyone in our care as if they were our own family and will not detract from our high standards for any reason. It is heartbreaking to hear what these families have gone through and it is infuriating that someone in such a position of trust would do something so disgusting and bring our profession into such disrepute.

We never take the faith placed in us by a family lightly.

An interesting and insightful visit to the National Funeral Exhibition this week for David, Charlotte and Terry who, other than being inundated with hundreds of free pens, were able to network and see the new products available to the profession.

Lovely also to catch up with Gemma (Chair of Governors for the Independent Funeral Directors College where David also works as a trainer / assessor) and also with Simon who is the Vice President of the National Society of Allied Independent Funeral Directors.
