You may have become aware of tech issues impacting on the functionality of the Motor Insurer's Database (MID). The MID is the national platform that can tell you if your vehicle has current live Motor Insurance. The Police Authorities use the MID to check if vehicles are currently Insured. The MID's transfer to a new platform has been a little bumpy. The Police are aware and we recommend carrying an electronic or printed copy of your Certificate of Motor Insurance in your vehicle.
