Last week, members of our team had the pleasure of attending the bi-annual Handelsbanken Charity Ball.

Held in aid of the Norfolk Community Foundation, the event made for a very enjoyable evening of dining, conversation and entertainment.

Thank you and congratulations to the Handelsbanken team for hosting such a fantastic event and a further thank you to our guests for joining us for the evening.

We were delighted to welcome the lovely team from Circus Head (CIC) to our Norwich office this morning as part of our CSR committee’s coffee morning initiative.

It was a chance to treat our team to a fantastic selection of freshly made drinks, alongside plenty of sweet and savoury treats. A big thank you to the Circus Head team for looking after us so well!

More importantly, the morning gave us an opportunity to support a very worthwhile cause and the work Circus Head does to support frontline ambulance staff. We’re also pleased that any leftover food will be donated to emergency services personnel, while our team supported the charity further through donations for its ‘bad day buttons’.

Circus Head is a non-profit organisation focused on the mental health and wellbeing of ambulance staff, running community initiatives that offer opportunities and support to help emergency services personnel through difficult times.

We were delighted to support Suffolk Community Foundation’s Private Adviser event this morning at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park.

As professional advisers, conversations around philanthropy and legacy can form an important part of helping clients consider not only their financial future, but the difference they would like their wealth to make.

Our Managing Director, Henry Gaskin, joined the panel to discuss the role advisers can play in starting these conversations – particularly around key life events such as retirement, inheritance, the sale of a business and estate planning.

One statistic shared this morning particularly stood out: Charities Aid Foundation research found that 60% of high-net-worth individuals think it is important to discuss philanthropy with their adviser, yet only 36% of advisers think these conversations are important.

It was also a valuable opportunity to explore charitable trust succession and how Community Foundations can help ensure charitable intentions continue when there isn't a next generation of trustees ready to take the baton.

At SG Wealth Management and SG Corporate Services, supporting the communities in which we live and work is hugely important to us. Through our own Community Funds with the Suffolk and Norfolk Community Foundations, we are proud to help support organisations making a tangible difference locally.

Last week, colleagues from our Norwich and Ipswich offices came together to celebrate SG Wealth Management's 25th anniversary.

Setting off from Wroxham aboard the Vintage Broadsman, we spent a wonderful afternoon on the waterways of the beautiful Norfolk Broads, enjoying great food, refreshments and, most importantly, the opportunity to spend quality time together.

As we reflected on the past 25 years, it was also a chance to recognise and thank the many colleagues, past and present, whose dedication, expertise and hard work have shaped the business we are today.

We’re incredibly proud of what we've achieved together and grateful to every member of the SG Wealth Management team for their ongoing commitment and contribution to our continued success.
