Four weeks on from the Hard Hats to Heels Retreat and, looking back at the photos, there was certainly no missing Watts Commercial in the room, our hi-vis went down a storm!

My Commercial Manager, Rebecca Blaymires, attended on behalf of Watts Commercial, connecting with an incredible network of women from across the property and construction sectors.

Since then, Rebecca has continued to build her relationship with Hayley Andrews, the Hard Hats to Heels team and the wider network, with new conversations, connections and opportunities continuing to develop. The power of partnerships can lead to some truly exceptional experiences.

Our Managing Director, Phil Gray, was invited by Marc Goldberg and the Together team to 'An Evening with President Barack Obama' at Co-op Live in Manchester.

Hearing the former President reflect on his journey, the lessons he has learned about leadership and the challenges facing the next generation made for an unforgettable evening. Hosted in the OVO Lounge, the hospitality made the experience even more special.

A huge thank you to Marc and everyone at Together for the invitation and for looking after Phil so well. Strong partnerships are built through the work we do together, but it’s moments like this that make them personal too.

It’s a night Phil will remember for a long time to come.

Our October team meeting yesterday at Wychwood Park Hotel and Golf Club marked our final team meeting of the year, and it was a valuable chance to get everyone together.

With colleagues working across the UK, opportunities to meet in one room matter. We heard updates from senior leaders across the business, reflected on the year so far and spent time planning what’s in store for 2027.

In the afternoon, we welcomed our lender partners for updates and conversations with the team. Thank you to Adrian Francis-Lang from Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC); Samantha Pettit and Paul Hughes from West One Loans; and Greg Barnard and Mike Sharp from Hampshire Trust Bank for taking the time to join us and share your insights.

It was a productive day, and it was especially good to catch up with colleagues we don’t always get to see in person. We’re heading into the final months of the year with plenty to focus on and exciting plans taking shape for 2027.
