The team at Robson’s Funeral Services are organising a charity sponsored walk to raise money for the West Somerset Food Cupboard. With options to complete the 8.5 mile challenge or full 17 mile challenge. We’d love for you to join us!

Saturday 10th October 2026
Meeting point: Morrisons Car Park, Vulcan Road, Minehead, TA24 6DG.
Start Time: 9:00am

The team will be walking together from Minehead to Watchet, taking in the beautiful Somerset coast path along the way. Bring your friends, family and walking boots and come along for a great day out while supporting a fantastic local cause. Every donation, big or small, will make a difference.

For anyone who doesn’t want to complete the full 17 miles, you can choose to finish in Watchet after 8.5 miles and make your own arrangements to return to Minehead. Buses run approximately every 50 minutes, or you can arrange a taxi or lift.

Thank you to everyone who’s messaged about Confidence Mentoring. I’ve had some really good conversations, and one September slot is now reserved pending onboarding.

That leaves 1 retainer space for September.

Last night was the beginning.

Thank you to everyone who watched, messaged, signed, shared, supported, questioned, encouraged or simply said:

“This is needed.”

Over the last few days we have spoken to more than 20 local people, had support from local businesses, and seen people step forward as potential directors, committee members, volunteers, advisors and supporters.

That matters.

Because EMpact cannot be built by one person.

And it should not be built around one ego.

EMpact is being shaped as a CIC in formation to help connect people, families, services, volunteers and practical support across West Somerset.

The heart of it is simple:

Many people do not need more services.

They need those services connected through practical action.

We are now preparing our first public session in Minehead on Sunday 28 June, location to be confirmed.

Grief has no timeline. It can be felt in a quiet moment, a familiar song, an empty chair or a memory that suddenly brings someone close again. There is no right way to grieve, and no two journeys are the same.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and there is no timetable for when grief should feel different.

Today, we remember those who are no longer with us and offer a gentle thought to everyone carrying the loss of someone they love.

🏡 WHO ACTUALLY HELPS WHEN LIFE CHANGES?

Not medically. Not personal care.

We mean all those practical things nobody really gives you a handbook for.

An older relative wants to remain safely at home, but their bedroom needs moving downstairs.

A family member passes away and suddenly you’re responsible for decades of possessions and a property.

Someone’s home has become overwhelming and nobody quite knows where to start.

Furniture needs moving. Rooms need adapting. Belongings need sorting. A clearance might eventually be needed.

Who actually deals with the home in the middle of all of that?

Increasingly, that’s where Manor From Heaven comes in.

We specialise in helping people and homes through life’s transitions, while working alongside carers, families, community organisations and existing services.

And through the development of EMpact, we’re looking at how we can better connect people with the wider support around them too.

A house clearance shouldn’t start with a skip.

After years of working inside people’s homes, we’ve learned that the hardest part often isn’t physically removing things.

It’s making the decisions.

Photographs. Documents. Jewellery. Memories. Furniture. Things to donate. Things to sell. Things nobody quite knows what to do with.
