The recent incident involving the Oyster 825 Viva La Vida during is a sobering reminder of how quickly circumstances can change on the water. 🌊 Thankfully, all 10 people on board were safely rescued. The yacht, however, sustained severe damage after hitting a reef and ultimately capsized.

For , the risks can be very different from those associated with cruising. Higher speeds, competitive sailing, racing locations, specialist equipment and the demands placed on the yacht can all have implications for insurance. ⛵ Racing yacht insurance is not simply about insuring the value of the yacht. It is about understanding how, where and why it is being sailed, and making sure the insurance arrangements reflect that.
