Some of the most vulnerable people in our community are also among the hardest to reach.
The Saffires Project supports women affected by selling s*x across Leicester and Leicestershire, meeting them in the places where they actually are — offering non-judgemental support and building trusted relationships over time.
We're pleased to share that the Chesterton House Foundation has awarded Saffires a £1,000 grant, helping sustain this frontline outreach work.
For some women, Saffires' outreach workers are the only professionals who check regularly on their welfare. That consistent contact helps women feel safer, less isolated, and more able to access practical support — from healthcare and housing to emotional support and a safe space to talk.
The grant will help fund Saffires' outreach van and support plans to extend the service further across the county. Over the past ten years, 310 women in Leicester have accessed support through Saffires, with many going on to build new lives beyond the s*x industry.
