This chart is a great way to help you explore your emotions, especially if you struggle to identify them. Being able to identify if what your experiencing is pleasant/unpleasant and high energy or low energy can help you narrow down and identify your emotion. This can be particularly help for some neurodiverse individuals.

It's hard to ignore what's going on in the world, it's heart breaking, and children will be aware too. This is a good article that outlines how to talk to your children about war in an age appropriate way.

“Hearing words like ‘bombing’, ‘invasion’ and ‘World War Three’ being thrown about, without a full understanding of what’s going on, is worrisome for us all, and it doesn’t escape our little ones.

Whether on the news, someone talking to the shop checkout lady, parents chatting in the playground, or the latest TikTok video, much of what they are hearing, especially once at school, is out of your control.

And sometimes, external factors (for example, a child in the playground telling everyone that World War Three is starting and we’re all going to die) can provoke more of a fear response.

It’s very possible that even very young children are more aware of what war is than we might even realise.

Therefore, it’s worth considering your language around younger children.

But how is best to explain what’s going on to the children in your life? And how can you go about reassuring any anxieties (while also managing your own)?”

Christmas is harder for people than I think we realise. Behind all those Christmas jumpers and mince pie smiles lots of people are dealing with grief, loneliness, their finances, anxiety, expectations and more.
For some this in not the 'Season to be Jolly' it's a hard slog.

If you or someone you know is a little quieter this time of year, withdraws from social situations and need more time alone, gets upset and tearful then give them a break. Let them know that it's OK, that you're there and they can take the time they need.

Christmas time can bring up so many emotions but the expectation is that everyone's happy. Sadly this isn't true for everyone.

Winter is a time where as animals we would be cozied away, sleeping and eating our way through the long cold nights, but instead we are busier then ever preparing for Christmas.

Don't feel bad if youre not full of the Christmas cheer you see advertised!
Take it slow and be kind to yourself!

Absolutely devastated to hear the news about 12 year old Ava white who tragically lost her life last night. My heart is heartbroken for her poor family
😢😢😢

To offer some help/ reassurance to the local community we will be running a free self defence class for all children and teens next Saturday 4th December 12.30pm-1.30pm
This is completely free but if you wish to make a donation all proceeds will go to Ava’s family.

I've heard a lot of people say they are finding life hard at the moment and wondering why? We can go out again now, we can meet people, we can go to most places again, I'm back working in the office, so why? Why do I feel like this?

This little post explains briefly why.
We are depleted after such a long time adjusting to and responding to a long term pandemic. We are not built for long term emergencies and so have used our reserves. It takes time and effort to refuel and recharge.

Sometimes it can feel like we're 'stuck' in a feeling, a thought or a way of life and it's often when we're feeling this that we need to make some changes.

Change can be hard and painful but it can also be beautiful and freeing.

Saying "No" for a lot of people is an uncomfortable experience, one that they avoid for various reasons.
The trick is, the more you do it the easier it becomes. Saying "No" to thing that you don't want to do, or things that aren't going to help you feel good is an important boundary to have, it tells others and (more importantly) yourself that your time and mental wellbeing is valuable and you are respecting that.

In our society we avoid taking about death as it can make us feel uncomfortable or feel sad but I encourage talking about it. It's part of life for everyone.
Grief can be one of the most difficult times of life and often we are totally unprepared with little knowledge or understanding of what's happening for us. Talking can help.

With many people suffering losses during Covid, the Fandangoe Whip project aims to create a safe space to talk about grief
