⚠️ Scam Warning ⚠️

We received a phone call today from someone claiming that our National Insurance number had been compromised and linked to a contact in Mid Wales.

🚨 What this scam is

Fraudsters often pretend to be from HM Revenue and Customs or the Department for Work and Pensions, claiming:

- Your National Insurance number has been “compromised” or “used in crime”
- There’s suspicious activity in another location (like “mid Wales”)
- You must act urgently (press a number, speak to an “officer,” or give details)

This is completely fake. Your NI number can’t be “shut down” or “moved,” and government departments don’t make these kinds of threatening calls.

✅ What you should do
-Hang up immediately (don’t press buttons or engage)
-Do not share any details (NI number, bank info, etc.)
-Report it to Action Fraud
-You can also forward scam texts/calls info to 7726 (free UK reporting service)

Exciting update 🚗

Mileage allowance for cars/vans is increasing from 45p per mile to 55p per mile*.

This would be backdated to 6th April 2026.

The same applies to everyone who is self-employed using simplified expenses.

Reminder -

This is a simplified expenses mileage rate, so you cannot also claim separately for fuel, insurance, vehicle tax, servicing, or other running costs.

*Up to 10,000 business miles. After 10,000 miles, the rate remains 25p per mile.
