It may not sound much right now - but imagine not having to pay a mortgage for a whole year.

A mortgage offer has landed where we're borrowing an extra £5,000 so that the clients can get their bathroom sorted, plus we're also taking a further year off the mortgage term. We've done this by moving the mortgage to a new lender.

I want to help my clients pay their mortgage off as quickly, but as sensibly as possible - helping them pay as little interest to the lenders as possible! A shorter overall mortgage will help this happen!

2 ways to pay your mortgage offer faster! (On top of having a shorter term to start with!)

1) Make mortgage overpayments.
Overpayments will help you pay less interest & pay off your mortgage faster.

2) Remortgage when your fixed rate ends.
Getting a remortgage lined up for when your deal ends is a great way to attack your mortgage. (This is where you move your mortgage debt to a different bank/lender)

You can sort remortgage deals around 6 months before your current fixed rate mortgage deal ends.

This was a positive outcome.

They were worried about what their mortgage payment was going to, with the 2% interest rate coming to an end.

We've sorted the budget issue, by using the mortgage to also pay off a personal loan.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on a mortgage.
