🍂
It’s half-term.
It’s autumn, 2026.
My 4 year old learns her letters.
And it’s the UK Autumn Budget! 🇬🇧
As the UK gets ready for Budget Day, the speculation is building. What could Chancellor John Healey announce, and what might it mean for individuals, families and businesses?
Here are 3 of the biggest rumours to watch:
1. Income tax thresholds and personal allowances
Could we see a change to the personal allowance or the continued freeze on tax thresholds? Any changes could affect take-home pay and how much people pay in tax over time.
2. Inheritance tax and family businesses
Agricultural and business property reliefs remain under scrutiny. Any changes could have significant implications for farmers, family businesses and those planning to pass assets on to the next generation.
3. Pensions and retirement planning
Pension tax relief, tax-free withdrawals and support for pensioners are all areas attracting attention. Even small changes could influence long-term retirement planning.
🍁 But remember: rumours are not policy. Nothing is confirmed until the official announcements are made.
For me, the real question is not just what changes might be announced, but how they will affect everyday people, business confidence, investment and the UK’s future economic growth.
What are you watching most closely this Autumn Budget? Tax, pensions, inheritance or support for businesses?
Let’s hear your thoughts!
