Today sees the start of The Environment Agency Flood Action Week. How prepared are you for a flooding event?
It's a timely campaign with all the local discussion on the proposed flood alleviation works in our town.

Please remember that living in Hebden Bridge and the surrounding areas doesn't automatically mean you cannot purchase flood insurance. Whilst some insurers do unfortunately exclude the cover, other insurers may offer the cover with a higher excess which to some people might, on the face of it appear to render the cover pointless, but there are also additional insurance policies available which will cover the cost of the excess. Something to be considered if your next insurance renewal arrives with a flood excess you may not be able to account for.
