Do you claim child benefit and earn over £60,000?
Did you know….
You have to repay 1% for every £200 over £60,000
If you earn £80,000+, it’s 100% repayable
The higher earner must declare it, even if it is the other parent claiming.
These rules apply even if the higher earner is a step-parent.
You may need to fill in a self-assessment tax return
If you don’t declare or miss it, HMRC could charge penalties and interest.
