Making Tax Digital is no longer something to put off – the first MTD quarter is almost complete.

📅 Quarter 1 (6 April 2026 – 5 July 2026) must be submitted by 7 August 2026.

If MTD applies to you, now is the time to make sure you’re prepared.

✔ Check if MTD applies to you
✔ Make sure your records are up to date
✔ Get your digital systems in place

Making Tax Digital doesn’t have to mean changing the way you work overnight.

At Harrison Hinchliffe, we’ve created an in-house spreadsheet that allows you to record your income and expenses in a format that can be converted into an HMRC-compliant digital submission.

Our aim is to provide flexible solutions that work for your business, your confidence level and your budget.

If you’re happy to capture the information yourself and send it over to us, the monthly cost is significantly lower than having us complete everything for you. However, it’s important to be realistic about the time you have available and how confident you feel managing the process. If it’s something you’ve not done before, we can provide as much support as you need.

Meet Declan – our longest-serving team member (since 2015!)

From A Levels ➡️ Qualified Accountant ➡️ Absolute legend.

He joined us straight after finishing his exams and never looked back 🙌

Declan is our go-to guy for the self-employed, especially larger sole traders who love a good reconciliation (well… he does anyway 😅). There’s nothing he enjoys more than when all the numbers balance perfectly.

He’s also fully prepped and ready to tackle the new Making Tax Digital changes - so our clients don’t have to stress about it.

Meet Lauren – our Office & Payroll Manager and the ultimate behind-the-scenes powerhouse 💼✨

Starting with us back in 2017 as an office administrator, Lauren quickly levelled up and now keeps the entire office running like a perfectly oiled machine. Super organised, incredibly meticulous, and basically the go-to for just about everything… she can answer most questions without needing to call in the accountants (even if she insists she’s “not qualified” 👀).

When she’s not mastering payroll and CIS (her absolute favourite…and no, she won’t let anyone else touch it 😅), Lauren’s busy being mum-life central… usually found pitch-side at football or poolside at swim lessons 🏊‍♂️⚽

We honestly don’t know what we’d do without her.
