This is apparently the face I now make whenever I spot a speed camera… 😰😂
The photo was actually taken after CrossFit this morning, but since attending a Speed Awareness Course a couple of weeks ago, it feels pretty appropriate!
Lesson learned. 🚗🙈
Joking aside, I actually thought the course was worthwhile. If the objective is to make people safer drivers, getting someone to spend a few hours thinking about their driving and changing their behaviour seems pretty sensible.
Which makes it slightly odd that Speed Awareness Courses aren’t currently available for offences committed in Scotland — particularly when Scotland’s own safety-camera programme states that cameras are there to reduce casualties rather than generate revenue.
But there was also a decent lesson that applies to mortgages:
Slow down, look at the options and choose the right route.
Recently that’s meant:
🏡 Helping clients secure a second home.
⏳ Showing another client no-ERC and one-year fixed options while they decide what their longer-term plans look like, rather than automatically tying themselves in for several years.
🔑 Helping three first-time buyers secure their first homes and putting suitable protection in place for whatever life might throw at them.
🎓 And using a JBSP mortgage to provide another potential solution for parents wanting to help their daughter buy a property while studying in Dundee rather than simply paying rent for the next few years.
Mortgages aren’t about getting from A to B as quickly as possible.
They’re about finding the route that best fits where you actually want to end up.
And yes, I’m now trying to remember the first part of that sentence when I’m in the car too… 😂🚗
