Building on solid ground.

This week, we helped a construction company based in Cambridgeshire secure a £20,000 business loan to support their next project.

From covering material costs to keeping crews on site and equipment moving, funding like this means less time worrying about cash flow and more time getting the job done.

Here's to laying the next foundation.

Rolling into growth.

This week, we helped a tyre company based in the West Midlands secure a £15,000 business loan to support their next stage of growth.

From stock and equipment to keeping operations running smoothly day to day, funding like this gives businesses the room to grow without the cash flow strain holding them back.

Wishing the team every success as they keep the wheels turning.

Pinch, punch, first of the month.

If you grew up in the UK, chances are you've said this at least once today (and maybe felt a small pinch land on your arm too).

Nobody really knows where it started — one theory ties it back to warding off witches with a pinch of salt, another links it to fruit punch shared as a gesture of goodwill. Either way, it's stuck around as one of those odd little traditions that gets passed down without anyone questioning it.

Other countries have their own versions of a fresh start. In Greece, people say "Kalo mina" — happy month. In the US, some say "rabbit rabbit" first thing for good luck.

However you mark it, happy first of the month from all of us at Little Business Loans.

One more long weekend before the year starts winding toward autumn. Though after the storms and downpours this week, it might be more indoor plans than garden ones for some of us.

Whatever you've got lined up we hope you get a proper break from it.
See you back here Tuesday.

Apology from Little Business Loans:

We messed up. We didn’t treat you like an algorithm. No robots or automated checklists here.

We did something different—we actually talked to you, listened to you, and looked at the people behind the numbers. If our human touch delayed a generic automated response, we’re sorry.

We'll definitely do it again. Thanks for being a partner, not a number.

GCSEs don't write the ending. 🎓

Some will be over the moon. Some might feel a bit deflated. Both are completely normal — and neither one decides what comes next.

Our CEO and Commercial Director walked away from school without a single GCSE. It didn't stop them building the business they run today, and it hasn't slowed them down since.

What matters more, in our experience, is turning up, solving problems, and being willing to try something even when you're not sure it'll work.
So to everyone who got their results this week — however they went — this is one chapter, not the whole book.

Printer ink: more expensive than vintage Ch*****ne. 🖨️

Our CEO shared this one this morning, and we thought it was too good not to pass on.

Going away for a while and worried your ink cartridges will dry out? Here's a simple fix:

Pop a damp sponge in an airtight container with the cartridges
Close the lid about three-quarters of the way
Suck the air out (classy, we know)
Seal it shut

Simple, cheap, and it's worked every time so far.

Sometimes the best savings tips have nothing to do with funding — just a bit of good old-fashioned know-how.

Results day is done. Your story isn't. 🎓

Some will be over the moon. Some might feel a bit deflated. Both are completely normal — and neither one decides what comes next.

Take a look at our own CEO and Commercial Director. No GCSEs, no university, yet here they are, running a company that helps small businesses across the UK get the funding they need to grow.

The truth is, there's no single path to success. Grit, curiosity and a willingness to have a go count for just as much as grades ever did.

So to everyone who got their results this week — however they went — the story's only just getting started.

Eyes to the sky tomorrow. 🌒

Tomorrow evening, the UK will see its deepest partial solar eclipse in almost 27 years, with up to 90% of the Sun covered as it dips toward the horizon.

The eclipse begins around 6:10pm (timings vary slightly depending on where in the UK you are).

Wherever you are tomorrow, we hope you get a clear sky to enjoy it (safely).

New term, new rules.

From this September, schools across the UK can only require a maximum of three branded uniform items per child — a change brought in to help ease the cost of school uniforms for parents.

For independent uniform suppliers and school shops, it’s a shift worth planning for — adjusting stock, contracts and ranges to match the new limit.

If your business needs support adapting to changes like this, we’re here to help you find the right funding to keep moving forward.
